About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team at Alfa Laval. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for performing service work, including troubleshooting, condition audits, and maintenance work for customer-fired boiler or waste heat recovery systems in shipyards, offshore, and power plants worldwide.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide customer-focused service, including commissioning and service-related activities.
  • Develop and execute process, mechanical, electrical, and controls completion in accordance with company and customer requirements.
  • Create commissioning execution procedures and schedules for all process, mechanical, electrical, and control automation tasks relating to Boilers & Gas systems.
  • Ensure compliance with customer and project specifications, as well as statutory regulations and classifications society-related site activity.
  • Communicate internally and externally to implement a plan for bringing the system to safe and operational handover to the client in accordance with project performance guarantees and classification society requirements.
  • Provide daily internal and external reporting of onsite activities and progress, detailing status in relation to project and commissioning schedules.
  • Act as a customer focal point for service lifecycle of Boilers & Gas systems equipment, including technical support, troubleshooting, callouts, system monitoring, health checks, training, surveys, spares, and aftersales enquiries.
  • Champion continuous improvement and actively seek innovation in our business.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10 years total experience, with 5 years in a similar industry-related position.
  • Advanced skills, knowledge, and experience within Combustion, steam, heat transfer, and fuel handling, Instrumentation & controls, Safety shutdown systems, Mechanical, process, and electrical engineering, Rotating equipment, and Positive & investigative attitude.
  • Ability to travel extensively for prolonged durations with office-based time in-between assignments.
  • Willingness to work in offshore environments.
