Research Scientist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Research Fellow or Senior Research Fellow to join our team. As a leading centre for advanced materials research, we aim to push the boundaries of polymer–Karbohm composites and characterise their properties.

About the Role

The successful candidate will design, develop, and optimise polymer–Karbohm composites for structural applications. This will involve conducting detailed characterisation and analysis of composite materials, including mechanical, thermal, and structural performance testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop polymer–Karbohm composites for structure material applications
  • Conduct detailed characterisation and analysis of composite materials
  • Document findings and prepare technical reports
  • Lead laboratory setup projects and oversee equipment sourcing, procurement, installation, and commissioning
  • Recruit, train, and mentor laboratory team members
  • Foster collaboration with research teams and industry partners
  • Coordinate work across geographies to meet project objectives
Requirements
  • PhD in Polymer Science or Materials Science
  • Specialization in plastic compounding, carbon fibre reinforcement, and nanomaterials
  • Experience in recycled plastics and aerogel
  • In-depth understanding of high-performance polymers
  • 10+ years in advanced materials R&D, ideally with industrial experience
  • Proven success in developing and scaling composite materials
  • Leadership and mentoring skills
  • Mission-driven and passionate about sustainability and circular economy
