Composite Assistant Engineer

In this role, you will:

- Prepare and conduct tests / checks for raw materials and finished parts such as coupon level mechanical test, visual inspection, resin weighing etc.
- Maintain inventory of materials and lot number traceability
- Carry out fabrication of composite structures with materials such as carbon reinforcements, epoxy resin and honeycomb
- Perform trimming and finishing of composite or composite-metallic hybrid structures
- Generate fabrication route card for simple composite part fabrication
- Conduct in-process NDT check on composite part and coupon level mechanical test based on established test procedure
- Carry out data extraction / processing and generate test report
- Lay-up composite parts by following technical drawings, written or verbal instruction

**Requirements**:

- NITEC / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Materials Science / Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering
- Proficient in mechanical work (i.e. drilling and sawing) and CAD modelling (i.e. SolidWorks and AutoCAD)
- Good understanding of composite manufacturing methods and protocols
- Familiar with systems that involve vacuum infusion manufacturing such as vacuum assisted resin infusion (VARI)
- Must be able to work well in a team setting, as the tasks are complex and will require a team to work together, sometimes sequentially and sometimes on different portions together, to complete the tasks
