Your Opportunity:
We are in search of a skilled and detailed-oriented Composites Manufacturing Engineer to focus on the production of Vertical Ocean’s proprietary equipment. You will bring your expertise in composite lamination and vacuum infusion to lead manufacturing processes, ensure product quality and to meet stringent standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, optimize and lead all composite manufacturing processes for composite materials and parts.
- Ensures workplace safety by implementing and enforcing safety protocols for handling hazardous materials through

training and educating team members on safety procedures.
- Lead processes such as composite layup, curing, machining, vacuum infusion and hand-layup.
- Creates and oversees the composite manufacturing production scheduling at the site (Singapore).
- Identify and troubleshoot issues in composite manufacturing and implement corrective actions.
- Sourcing and managing materials (consumables, fabrics, etc), tools and equipment required within the department.
- Develop and maintain documentation for manufacturing processes, work instructions, plybooks and quality control procedures.
- Leads the prototyping and testing of new composite parts or structures to ensure manufacturability, and leads the process to develop tooling moulds and other inputs for series production.
- Lead capital improvement projects aimed at increasing manufacturing capabilities through new equipment or facility modification.
- Recruit a team of 2 - 3 production personnel to support the composite manufacturing production schedule.
- Create training plans for composite production personnel to ensure safety protocols and proficiency in manufacturing processes.
- Propose and implement new methods or technologies to enhance product performance or manufacturing efficiency.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, focusing on reducing waste and improving overall process quality.

Qualifications and skills:

- 5+ years of experience in composite manufacturing, including hands-on work with vacuum infusion of large parts.
- Strong knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing standards.
- Experience in a production environment with supervisory or managerial experience.
- High level of attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Adaptability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment that demands precision and adaptability.
- This position will require working in a manufacturing floor environment, including exposure to composite materials, resins and adhesives.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster productive relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders.

Preferred:

- BSc/MSc in a relevant discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science).
- Prior experience in a startup environment.
- Experience with CAD software for tooling and fixture design.

Additional Details:

- Availability for on-call duties during non-business hours to address immediate issues.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends or holidays, as our facilities operate 365 days a year.
- Openness to occasional international and domestic travel.
- Fluent in communication skills; English
