Job Title

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Data Center Operations Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facility management, with expertise in electrical and mechanical systems.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the optimal performance of our data center systems. This includes:

  • Maintaining a positive working relationship with internal and external clients.
  • Responding to customer service requests in a timely manner.
  • Responding to emergency calls during shift work.

Additionally, you will assist the Operation Lead in daily management of DC Operations and Periodic Preventive Maintenance Management to ensure 100% uptime of critical M&E systems.

You will conduct daily walkthroughs to record and report any faults or defects detected and maintain accurate records of M&E equipment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Center Operations Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that all subcontractors are inducted and permitted to work within the Critical Environment domain.
  • Reviewing subcontractor method statements, risk assessments, and MSDS to ensure compliance with site health & safety and operating procedures.
  • Maintaining log and records of instrument readings, equipment, and consumable stock level.
  • Briefing and handover to Shift Duty Technician on all outstanding issues and Standing Instructions from the Operation Lead/Assistant Manager/Manager.
  • Incidents and field service reporting and filing.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent field of study.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a data center or other Critical Environment required (preference is given to data center, hospital, pharmaceutical production, or power plant experience).
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, life safety monitoring, and control systems typically used in critical environments.
  • Proficient knowledge of HVAC and/or Electrical Systems.
