**Trade Operations Specialist Job Description**

Job Title Overview

The Trade Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of trade operations, including managing shipments, preparing shipping documents, and coordinating with banks for Letter of Credit issuance. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in dry bulk and/or container shipments and be able to handle high volume transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Understanding contractual terms and obligations to fulfill shipment requirements
  • Managing shipments' requirements, including port declaration, shipping instructions, insurance application, and checking of shipping documents
  • Ensuring shipping documents are prepared as per customers' requirements
  • Generating invoices to customers for payments
  • Preparing Letter of Credit (LC) drafts and liaising with banks for LC issuance
  • Coordinating with bank directly for LC negotiation and ensuring shipping documents comply with LC requirements
  • Performing warehouse management activities, including receipts, release, stock reconciliation, and warehouse billings accurately
  • Monitoring/ tracking shipments and resolving issues when necessary
  • Liasing with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations
  • Following up payments from customers promptly
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • 6 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Relevant experience in dry bulk and/or container shipments preferred
  • Ability to handle high volume transactions in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge in UCP600 and experience in liaising with banks directly for LC negotiation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, such as pivot table/vlookup
