The Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Transaction Banking Planner to join its Global Transaction Banking Department.

Job Description

As a Strategic Transaction Banking Planner, you will be responsible for supporting the planning and execution of our TB business strategy. This includes service planning, deposit marketing strategy, as well as acting as a liaison between various internal and external stakeholders. You will also be responsible for handling department KPI matters with management, including communication with stakeholders such as the planning department or TBSD team.

Your responsibilities will include managing department budgets, which includes financial budget, HC and expense budget, and other KPIs. You will provide performance reports to support these efforts. Additionally, you will work closely with the General Manager to support department-level matters, such as department events and meetings with senior management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support planning and execution of TB business strategy, including service planning, deposit marketing strategy, and liaison activities.
  • Handle department KPI matters with management, including communication with stakeholders.
  • Manage department budgets, including financial budget, HC and expense budget, and other KPIs.
  • Work with General Manager to support department-level matters.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have strong knowledge of customer operations, banking systems, and back-end operations. Proficiency in Japanese (spoken and written) is advantageous, as daily communication with stakeholders in Japan will require it. At least 3 years of experience working in transaction business is required. Strong customer-first discipline and the ability to overcome difficulties are essential. Business-level English skills are also necessary.

You will also need to possess leadership skills, with the ability to lead project teams in achieving desired outcomes. Spearheading projects and initiatives while working with various internal stakeholders requires strong communication skills, proactivity, and good interpersonal skills.
