The Role

As the Laboratory Operations Manager at Parkway Pantai Limited, you will be responsible for managing the organization and operational functions of the clinical Laboratory and pathological services of the site Laboratory assigned.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the organisational and operational functions of the clinical Laboratory and pathological services by:
  • Recommending the type and amount of equipment to be purchased to carry out the necessary tests and procedures.
  • Preparing operating and labour budgets for the Laboratory.
  • Directing regular maintenance and performance checks on all instruments and equipment.
  • Recommending technical methods, instruments to be used and the necessary reagents.
  • Enforcing personnel policies within the Laboratory as well as developing appropriate job descriptions.
  • Administering performance appraisals and reviews for all Laboratory personnel.
  • Directing the setting up, monitoring and periodic review of Standard Operating Policies/Procedures/Work Instructions of the departments and carrying out test evaluation programs as necessary.
  • Insuring environmental conditions meet maximum safety regulatory requirements, and enforcing safety measures against fire, caustic and toxic chemicals and bacterial hazards.
  • Maintaining compliance with all licensing/accreditation agency policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognized Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent.
  • Management training, experience or equivalent.
  • At least 15 years experience working in a medical Laboratory or equivalent.
  • Technical competency and knowledge of lab accreditations.
  • Organisational, management and people skills.
