Senior Application Developer, Institutional Banking Group Technology

DBS Bank is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Application Developer to join our Institutional Banking Group Technology team. As an Application Developer, you will play a pivotal role in crafting and implementing innovative solutions for complex projects that drive expansion into new business domains.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the entire lifecycle of solution development, software design, and integration projects.
- Engage in business development initiatives, including creating compelling presentations.
- Develop a deep understanding of businesses domain, enabling you to develop impactful solutions and products that translate into beneficial growth opportunities.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships across all organizational levels.
- Collaborate closely with the technology team to architect and deliver high-quality services that cater to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Manage concurrent enterprise-level projects, balancing priorities and ensuring timely execution.
- Stay abreast of cutting-edge technologies and their implications for emerging business models within the relevant domain.
- Drive the delivery of projects or functional components using agile methodologies.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Product Owners to shape strategic product roadmaps.
- Oversee the creation of a backlog of meticulously prioritized user stories, refining them with well-defined acceptance criteria.
- Monitor project progress, manage risks and dependencies, and work closely with program leadership to ensure seamless execution.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to the junior development team, while effectively managing resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with all Commercial and Licensing obligations to facilitate successful project outcomes.
- Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, backed by over 8 years of hands-on experience in Technology Consulting and Application Development.
- Proficient in Computer Programming (Java, Python, SQL) and Machine Learning Models, Libraries and Frameworks.
- Exhibit exceptional communication, presentation, and client management skills, with a focus on conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrate proficiency in stakeholder management, complemented by an unwavering attention to detail, crucial for creating robust and user-friendly applications.
- Embody a strong sense of responsibility and a proactive 'Can-Do' attitude that drives results, particularly in problem-solving, debugging, and optimizing application performance.
- Thrive in dynamic environments, seamlessly navigating both process-driven workflows and situations with ambiguity, adapting coding practices accordingly.
- Show dedication and a willingness to go the extra mile to meet project and client needs, often requiring creative and innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
- Showcase proven core consulting competencies, encompassing slide design, document storylining, analytical thinking, and modeling, tailored to the context of application design and development.
- Display deep familiarity with and insight into the business landscape of 2-3 industry sectors, effectively articulating and sharing industry trends and developments relevant to application development.
- Possess excellent organizational skills, empowering you to work autonomously within a collaborative, team-oriented setting while ensuring code quality and maintainability.
- Blend business acumen with technical acuity, enabling productive collaboration and solution brainstorming with technology subject matter experts, while ensuring alignment with application development best practices.
- Ideally, possess experience in designing, developing, and deploying digital applications, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams including designers, UX specialists, Product Owners, and Developers.
- Proficiency in workshop facilitation and the ability to diagnose the root causes of complex problems, with a keen understanding of how such insights impact application design decisions.
- Previous hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, whether as an Agile Delivery Manager, Scrum Master, or contributor to digital/technology projects, within a leading consultancy or an internal digital/technology function, is advantageous.
- Availability for travel as required.
