Job Overview

Role Objective

The Solutions Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficacy of solution design within the global contract logistics division of BDP International. This position is dedicated to examining intricate data from multiple perspectives and crafting cost-effective, operationally feasible, and innovative solutions tailored to meet client requirements. Furthermore, the role involves supporting operational enhancements and the reengineering of current processes to sustain competitive cost structures.

Core Responsibilities

Client Engagement (Internal & External)

Collaborate with BDP International clients and business development teams to comprehend client supply chain needs. Provide analytical and design assistance in the pursuit of new business opportunities, operational implementations, and reengineering projects. Gather and evaluate data related to logistics operations. Employ BDP International's standardized tools for developing, modeling, assessing, and selecting suitable solution alternatives. Clearly articulate solutions in appropriate formats for client presentations, participating in such presentations as necessary. Foster collaborative efforts among country and product leaders within BDP International to address client needs. Collaborate with external consultants to execute solution design projects, including responses to client RFQs and renewals. Mentor subordinates in complex solution design initiatives.

Process Management

Conduct data collection and verification for assigned projects. Engage in discussions and align designed solutions with the Contract Logistics Head, operational teams, Business Development teams, and other key stakeholders prior to submission. Generate and update documentation for knowledge management based on personal experiences in Business Development and completed projects. Innovate and enhance working practices to facilitate the development of team methodologies. Advocate for best practices in a collaborative manner, such as resource planning and knowledge management development. Support continuous improvement initiatives for current operations. Serve as the internal point of contact for access to logistics solutions expertise. Ensure that all proposed solutions and implementation plans meet established requirements. Provide general administrative support to divisionally based business development and solutions team members. Report on a monthly basis in the agreed format, providing necessary information for development team meetings. Develop effective client presentations of suitable solutions as part of the pursuit teams. Create a productivity database of existing operations and a cost database for vendors, assets/Capex, labor, MHE, costs, and all other information utilized in solution development.

Required Skills, Experience, and Educational Background

Experience

Over 5 years of experience in diverse solution design across various industries, with a preference for experience in Life Sciences, Chemicals, Electronics, and related sectors. Proven experience working with regional and global teams. Demonstrated understanding of logistics and supply chain management design principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge in the sales process. Familiarity with market sectors beyond the core listed above.

Education

Degree in a relevant field. Master's degree in a relevant discipline.

Key Competencies

Comprehensive knowledge of warehousing, transportation, and broader supply chain topics. Strong understanding of the Contract Logistics Business. Advanced proficiency in computer applications (MS Excel, Word, PPT, Visio). Familiarity with modeling/simulation/CAD tools such as AutoCAD is desirable. Knowledge of process flow diagrams and time & motion studies. Strong analytical skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Customer-focused approach. Self-motivated. Results-oriented.
