Job Overview

Role Objective

The Solutions Manager is tasked with ensuring the efficacy of solution design within the global contract logistics operations of BDP International. This position emphasizes the evaluation of intricate data from multiple perspectives to devise cost-effective, operationally feasible, and innovative solutions tailored to customer requirements. Furthermore, it involves supporting the enhancement and reengineering of current processes and configurations to sustain competitive cost structures.

Primary Responsibilities

Client Engagement (Internal & External)

Collaborate with BDP International clients and business development teams to grasp customer supply chain demands. Provide analytical and design assistance in the pursuit of new business opportunities, operational implementations, and reengineering projects. Collect and scrutinize data related to logistics operations. Employ BDP International's standard tools for developing, modeling, assessing, and selecting suitable solution alternatives. Clearly articulate solutions in appropriate formats for client presentations, participating in these discussions as necessary. Foster collaborative efforts among country and product leaders within BDP International to fulfill customer expectations. Engage with external consultants to execute solution design initiatives, including customer RFQ responses and renewals. Offer guidance to team members in complex solution design scenarios.

Process Management

Collect and verify data for assigned projects. Align designed solutions with the Contract Logistics Head, operational teams, Business Development teams, and other key stakeholders prior to submission. Generate and update documentation for knowledge management based on personal experiences in Business Development and completed projects. Innovate and enhance working practices to facilitate the development of team methodologies. Promote best practices through peer collaboration and team-oriented attitudes, such as resource planning and knowledge management development. Support continuous improvement initiatives for existing operations. Serve as the internal point of contact for access to logistics solutions expertise. Ensure all proposed solutions and implementation plans meet established requirements. Provide general administrative support to divisionally based business development and solutions team members. Report monthly on information required for development team meetings in an agreed format. Develop effective customer presentations showcasing appropriate solutions as part of pursuit teams. Create a productivity database of existing operations and a cost database for vendors, assets/Capex, labor, MHE, costs, and all other information utilized in solution development.

Required Skills, Experience, and Educational Background

Experience

Over 5 years of experience in diverse solution design across various industries, with a preference for backgrounds in Life Sciences, Chemicals, Electronics, and related sectors. Experience collaborating with regional and global teams. Proven understanding of logistics and supply chain management design principles, demonstrating the ability to apply this knowledge in the sales process. Familiarity with market sectors beyond the core listed above.

Education

Degree in a relevant field. Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.

Key Competencies

Comprehensive knowledge of warehousing, transportation, and broader supply chain topics. Strong understanding of the Contract Logistics Business. Advanced proficiency in computer applications (MS Excel, Word, PPT, Visio). Familiarity with modeling/simulation/CAD tools such as AutoCAD is advantageous. Knowledge of process flow diagrams and time & motion studies. Strong analytical skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Customer-centric approach. Self-motivated and results-oriented.
