About the Role

High performance managers are critical to achieving national and international success in fencing. The role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive high-performance plan that covers athlete development for senior, junior, and cadet squads across all weapon groups.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Strategic Leadership: Execute the strategic plan with a focus on high-performance outcomes under the guidance of programme directors.
  • National Team Management: Oversee daily operations of the national fencing programme ensuring smooth delivery of services and alignment with high-performance sport institutes.
  • Competition Planning & Delivery: Plan and oversee national team participation in key competitions and lead local trials, competitions (local & overseas), logistics, travel, and athlete welfare arrangements.
  • Policy, Governance & Administration: Develop and review high-performance policies and handle appeals, requests, and athlete selection matters.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Leadership & Communication: Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire athletes, coaches, and stakeholders.
  • Operational Excellence: Strong administrative and project management skills including proficiency in spreadsheets, data analysis, and process optimisation tools.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical thinking and the ability to simplify complex matters for diverse audiences.
  • Drive & Initiative: Proactive, resourceful, and able to plan, own, and deliver projects that advance departmental objectives.
