Barbecue Cook Position

  • We are seeking an experienced Barbecue Cook to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of meats using smokers, grills, and open flame techniques.
  • This is a challenging opportunity for someone with passion and expertise in barbecue cooking. If you have experience in food preparation and presentation, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of meats, including beef, pork, chicken, and lamb, using smokers, grills, and open flame techniques.
  • Maintain proper temperature and timing controls to ensure that all cooked products meet safety and quality standards.
  • Trim, season, marinate, and monitor meats throughout the smoking and cooking process.
  • Operate and maintain smokers, grills, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure that all prepared foods meet recipe, presentation, and portion standards.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to complete prep work, plating, and clean-up as needed.
  • Manage inventory of barbecue supplies and ingredients; notify management of low stock levels.
  • Keep work areas, equipment, and tools clean and organized at all times.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar kitchen role preferred.
  • Knowledge of smoking techniques, meat cuts, and seasoning methods.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Able to perform split shifts, work on weekends, and public holidays.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Team player with positive attitude and strong communication skills.
