Construction Cost Manager

Job Description:
This is a challenging role for a skilled professional who can manage the financial aspects of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients. They will also be responsible for monitoring project costs, tracking variations, and providing regular cost reports to ensure projects are completed within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather data from various sources, including drawings, specifications, and site requirements, to prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets.
- Contract Management: Manage contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure all terms and conditions are met.
- Tender Evaluation: Evaluate tender submissions, obtain quotations, and prepare tender documents for projects.
- Cost Control: Monitor project costs, track variations, and provide regular cost reports to ensure projects remain within budget.
- Billing and Payments: Prepare and process interim valuations, progress claims, and manage payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Reporting: Compile and present regular cost, progress, and financial reports as required by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have a diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or any equivalent discipline. A minimum of 1-2 years of construction experience is preferred, and experience in civil engineering works such as road works, earthworks, drainage works is an added advantage.
