Construction Cost Manager

As a Construction Cost Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Preparing schedules of quantity through accurate take-offs.
- Requesting quotations from vendors and preparing subcontract agreements and/or purchase orders.
- Handling progress claims and payments, as well as finalizing accounts.
- Providing cost and financial advice to the project team during pre-construction, construction, and post-construction stages.
- Traveling to work sites as required.
- Assisting in the procurement of sub-contractors and suppliers of specified materials.
- Supporting the project manager with contractual and costing matters.
- Performing ad-hoc tasks assigned by the employer.
To excel in this role, you should possess strong negotiation, administration, and cost control skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is also essential. Knowledge of construction, cost management, civil engineering, and procurement practices will be beneficial.
A successful Construction Cost Manager must be able to effectively manage estimates, tenders, pricing, and sourcing. Strong communication and team player skills are crucial for success in this position.
