Key Responsibilities:

  • Service Desk Duties: Provide efficient and high-quality Service Desk duties that align with NTU Library's service excellence standards, including After Office Hours (AOH) services during designated weekday evening and weekend opening hours.
  • Collection Maintenance: Perform and supervise collection maintenance activities for optimal resources accessibility.
  • Alma Library Management System: Operate the Alma Library Management System efficiently and effectively.
  • Process Improvement: Analyse current library processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Training and Development: Train, guide and lead a pool of Student Assistants on delivering library operational tasks and procedures.
  • User Spaces: Monitor and provide timely feedback on user spaces in the libraries in terms of cleanliness and condition.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and maintain library equipment.
  • Project Work: Contribute to service or space transformation initiatives or projects.
  • Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks, including rostering of staff and Student Assistants, budget tracking, and procurement.
  • Data Analysis: Provide relevant data and reports from the library system to facilitate decision-making by the management.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Diploma holder in a discipline with 3-5 years of work experience in customer service, or Degree holder with an interest in the job responsibilities.
  • Experience in Academic Libraries: Experience in operations, customer service or communications role in academic libraries or large libraries.
  • Project Management: Experience in executing innovation-driven or process improvements projects.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Organisational Skills: Good time management skill and ability to prioritize work well.
  • Technical Skills: Good knowledge of MS Words, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Alma Library Management System: Knowledge of Alma Library Management System is an advantage.
