Job Description

The Pathology Operations Assistant Director role entails developing and implementing a comprehensive business model for Anatomic Pathology (AP) services. This position involves centralising, harmonising, and consolidating resources and casemix at the cluster level to improve oversight, strengthen quality control and assurance, enhance clinical collaborations, and build sub-specialty expertise.

  • Develop and implement a sustainable business model for AP services that meets the needs of our clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardise clinical and operational workflows, ensuring seamless integration and optimal efficiency.
  • Organise, analyse, and present data to support cluster-level strategic projects and initiatives, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Prepare, review, and manage service agreements for AP services, fostering strong partnerships and ensuring mutual benefits.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the upgrading of facilities and equipment to meet service needs, working closely with clinical leads to identify and drive improvement initiatives that enhance service quality, productivity, and efficiency.

  • Conduct feasibility studies, financial evaluations, and cost–benefit analyses to recommend high-value, sustainable care models that align with our organisational goals.
  • Partner with clinical leads on process and workflow reviews, process improvement projects, and adoption of emerging tools and technologies in pathology operations, driving innovation and excellence.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in any discipline and at least 10 years of experience in laboratory operations and/or healthcare operations. Strong financial acumen, with proven experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and resource management, is also essential.
