Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

This is a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our employees and visitors at all times.

The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a safe working environment that meets all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective safety policies, procedures, and training programs to minimize risk and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and take corrective action to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, injuries, and near misses, as well as safety training and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to safety and environmental management.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements and industry best practices, adapting safety protocols accordingly.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in construction or infrastructure development.
  • Proven knowledge of local Workplace, Safety, Health (WSH) and Environmental legislation and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence stakeholders and lead by example.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work in a high-risk construction environment, including humid, hot, dusty, noisy, and at heights conditions.
  • Physically fit to perform daily routine site inspections and audits.
  • May require performing climbing on scaffolds, prolonged walking, climbing stairs, and standing supervision when necessary.
  • To be donned in relevant Personal Protective Equipment throughout the work hours.
