Job Description:

The Airfield Operations Specialist is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of ground support equipment at airports. This includes, but is not limited to, tow tractors, belt loaders, transporters, ULD loaders, passenger steps, ambulifts, main deck loaders, and other specialized equipment used in airport operations.

This role demands a high level of attention to detail, strict adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work under tight schedules to ensure timely aircraft ground operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operate safely and efficiently all equipment and vehicles within permitted classes
  • Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damages immediately to supervisors
  • Perform Foreign Object Debris (FOD) walks on aircraft parking stands
  • Perform manual marshalling or operate Aircraft Docking Guidance Systems (ADGS) at aircraft parking stands
  • Place and remove aircraft wheel chocks and safety cones based on airlines' requirements
  • Ensure that all vehicles and equipment are free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD)
  • Perform general loading and unloading operations, ensuring proper handling and placement to avoid damage
  • Perform duties on docking and withdrawing Passenger Loading Bridges (PLBs)
  • Read and interpret Container Pallet Messages (CPMs) & Loading Instruction Reports (LIRs)
  • Act as mentors to new recruits in the organization
  • Ensure compliance with all workplace safety and health policies and security protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPEs)
  • Adhere to airport authority rules & regulations, dnata Ground Operation Manuals (dGOMs), and airlines' GOMs
  • Ensure compliance with all workplace safety, security, and health policies and procedures
  • Perform any ad-hoc duties assigned by reporting managers or department heads
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum secondary education and above

Must possess minimum LTA Class 3 driving license or equivalent state driving licenses

Able to obtain Airfield Driving Permits (ADPs) after attending Airfield Rules & Regulations Courses (ARRCs) and passing relevant tests

Able to upgrade Airfield Driving Permits after attending internal training sessions and passing respective driving tests
