Job Title: Airfield Shift Supervisor
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airfield Shift Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our airfield. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of cargo and passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Movement Control Center staff to manage transportation assets, personnel support, and equipment.
- Serve as the point of contact for airfield-related issues.
- Supervise functions including loading and unloading aircraft, operating material handling equipment, and maintaining records on passenger and cargo movement.
- Directly supervise Air Transportation Specialist III and provide end-of-season evaluations.
- Indirectly supervise rotating cargo teams and provide feedback on performance.
- Ensure clear communication between the airfield and Movement Control Center concerning delays, passenger/cargo issues, and deviations from normal airfield operations.
- Interact with NSF, military personnel, and other agency officials in a professional and tactful manner.
- Handle confidential matters in accordance with USAP policy.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Bachelor's Degree and at least two years' experience in freight movement, including documenting, expediting, tracking, and hazardous material transportation.
- Airlift Mobility Command (AMC) Load Planner Certification.
- Minimum of two years of air cargo supervisory or leadership experience.
You should possess:
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of passenger and cargo movement functions, including transport aircraft types, capabilities, and configurations.
This role requires:
- Willingsness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods.
- Successful completion of Medical and Dental examinations required by NSF for deployment to Antarctica.
- Valid Driver's License issued in the United States.
