Job Title: Senior Contract Specialist

  • The Senior Contract Specialist oversees commercial and contractual aspects related to the main contract and subcontracts, managing any commercial and contractual risk relating to the project and employs mitigation actions as quickly and effectively as possible.
  • This role reviews external providers' terms of service and project deliverables, providing contractual advisory from a commercial perspective to the project through all stages: construction, subcontracting, completion, and hand-over.
  • The Senior Contract Specialist provides support to the Quantity Surveyor team in the project, monitoring, reporting, planning, and coordinating all aspects of their work.
  • This position proactively engages in continuous improvement and review of existing processes, systems, and policies that may support the project's contract management and administration.
  • The candidate advises on all contractual correspondence related to the project, considering commercial impact and identifies, assesses, and manages contractual risk.
  • Additionally, the Senior Contract Specialist manages contractual claims, disputes, settlements, and resolution, communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders both verbally and in written notices.
  • Responsibilities also include possessing knowledge in construction/contract law & different standard forms of contracts, leadership skills to manage internal and external stakeholders, thinks strategically and critically, exercising judgement after consideration for all aspects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required for this role.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management / Engineering (M&E Trade) or related fields.
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in contract negotiation, administration, and/or management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, analytical mindset, problem-solving abilities, as well as keen interest and motivation in a high growth and entrepreneur environment.
  • Candidate should have experience in handling buildings, M&E, commercial, and government projects.
