We are seeking a seasoned Development Director to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex industrial real estate projects. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with proven leadership, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, sustainably, and to the highest quality standards.
The successful Development Director will lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale industrial development projects, from concept through to handover. They will direct and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution. Review and approve designs, technical specifications, and construction methodologies will also be part of their responsibilities. Furthermore, they will oversee compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures to safeguard timelines and budgets. Manage relationships with authorities, contractors, suppliers, and strategic partners. Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation and financial discipline. Monitor procurement processes and negotiate favorable contract terms. Report regularly to senior leadership on progress, risks, and solutions.
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. A minimum of 10 years of proven experience managing large-scale industrial or logistics development projects is required. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams are essential. In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, construction best practices, and compliance regulations is necessary. Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time and within budget is crucial. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, AutoCAD) is beneficial. Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills are also vital.
