**Job Title: Senior Operations Specialist**

 

Role Overview:

The role of a Senior Operations Specialist is pivotal in shaping the future of capital markets. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving operational processes related to custody and trade settlement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting recurring processes related to trade settlement and custody.
  • Establishing, managing, and controlling operational processes across custody and trade settlement for our businesses in Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Managing and driving projects - leading cross-functional projects and new initiatives while performing recurring business-as-usual (BAU) tasks.
  • Leading and owning key relationships with internal and external stakeholders across various functions including technology, compliance, etc.
  • Overseeing daily processing of trades and ensuring on-time settlement of all trades (across financial products including Equity, Fixed Income, and others) - this includes processing of Corporate Action Events and product life cycle.
  • Managing post-trade settlement functions such as processing of trade instructions, ensuring instructions are communicated properly, relaying trade status back to clients and troubleshooting of trade queries and issues.
  • Undertaking process and system enhancements to achieve optimum productivity and process efficiency.
  • Ensuring full compliance to all policies and regulations; managing and ensuring effective service delivery to internal and external clients.
  • Ensuring smooth and efficient settlement and custody processes and documentation, liaising with counterparties and custodians for any trade mismatches, failures/issues to ensure fast and effective resolution.
  • Leading and managing a regional team in a senior capacity, demonstrating strong leadership skills and fostering collaboration.

 

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a securities/banking-related role.
  • Experience working for a smaller fintech or startup, which will require handling ambiguity.
  • Knowledge of securities operations, custody, and settlement processes.
  • Understanding of product parameters, policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements on domestic and global market operations.
  • Experience driving initiatives and change implementations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-servicing skills.
  • Effective communication skills with proficiency in writing and presentations.
  • Adaptable and resilient, strong problem-solving skills, and intellectually inquisitive.
  • A great team player, and willing to learn.
