Job Description

The Lead Dialect Ministry Pastor will cast vision, shepherd the congregation, and oversee the holistic spiritual development of members. This role is perfect for a spiritually mature and mission-minded servant-leader who can provide pastoral ministry for dialect-speaking members and lead worship services.

About the Role

This role involves leading worship services, providing pastoral care for dialect-speaking members, and overseeing the Lutheran Service of the Word and Sacrament. The ideal candidate will have experience in church ministry, preferably with a Hokkien speaking congregation.

  • Pastoral Work: Oversee the Lutheran Service of the Word and Sacrament, including pulpit ministry with guest speakers invited, schedule of preachers for Sunday Service, and weekly worship slides preparation.
  • Preaching: Preach 1-2 times per month.
  • Community Engagement: Organise fellowship and outdoor physical events for members, as well as evangelical events 1-2 times per year.
  • Support Services: Provide support for funerals and wakes of members, house cleansing, blessing and dedication, training the Ministry Leadership Team, and visitation, counselling and follow-up.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Education: Diploma/Degree in theology or Biblical studies.
  • Experience: A few years of church ministry experience, preferably with a Hokkien speaking congregation.
  • Skills: Good organising skills, interpersonal, communication skills, team-building skills, coaching and counselling knowledge, and ability to interact effectively with people at all levels.
