Transportation Operations Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Operations Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Load and unload materials in a secure and efficient manner, ensuring minimal damage and maximum productivity.
  • Plan delivery routes to optimize time and fuel efficiency, reducing costs and improving customer satisfaction.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including inspections and record-keeping, to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse and logistics team members to coordinate deliveries, resolving any issues that may arise.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as a Driver in a warehousing/logistics environment (1-3 years).
  • Familiarity with local roads and traffic patterns, including knowledge of alternative routes and road conditions.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks related to loading and unloading, demonstrating strength and stamina.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, building relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting, identifying and resolving mechanical issues promptly.
