Event Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of large-scale events and conferences. As an Event Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of event planning, including budgeting, scheduling, vendor management, and on-site coordination.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-profile events to a consistently high standard. You will have excellent project management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and work to tight deadlines. Additionally, you will possess strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, with confidence in liaising with clients and suppliers.

The role involves identifying and mitigating potential risks, troubleshooting issues, and implementing contingency plans as needed. You will also measure and analyze event performance, providing detailed post-event reports and recommendations for improvement.

A key aspect of this role is the management of a team of event coordinators, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices is essential to continuously enhance our event capabilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in event project management, preferably within the marketing & communications field
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale, high-profile events to a consistently high standard
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with confidence in liaising with clients and suppliers
  • Adaptable and resourceful, with a solutions-focused mindset to overcome challenges
  • Proficient in event management software and tools
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in event management, marketing, or a related discipline
