Job Title:

The position of Cook is a vital role in our organization, requiring strong culinary skills and attention to detail.

About the Job

We are seeking an experienced cook who can assist the Head Chef in preparing meals for our clientele. The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying, preparing, and cooking food according to menu specifications and daily requirements.


Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food to the highest standard, ensuring that all dishes meet the required quality and presentation standards.
  • Assist with last-minute meal orders or menu changes as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain accurate production records and patient diet information, adhering to strict health and safety guidelines.
  • Participate in menu planning, recipe development, and food research and testing, contributing to the creation of new and innovative dishes.
  • Ensure proper inventory management and stock control, minimizing waste and optimizing resource utilization.
  • Implement effective wet and dry food segregation and storage procedures, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Secondary Duties

  • Engage in health-related activities and cooking demonstrations when required, promoting healthy eating habits and cooking techniques.
  • Support banquet, main kitchen, pastry, bakery, vegetarian, or cold food preparation as needed, demonstrating versatility and teamwork.
  • Report any discrepancies or irregularities to supervisors, upholding a culture of transparency and accountability.

Requirements

  • Minimum GCE 'N' Level / 'O' Level / Nitec 2-3 qualification with at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Possess basic Food Hygiene certification, demonstrating commitment to food safety and quality.
  • Recognized Culinary Certificate will be an advantage, showcasing advanced culinary skills and knowledge.
