The role of the Technical Assistant Manager is to lead and direct technical coordination and design management aspects of construction projects.

Key responsibilities include leading the conceptual and detailed design of cleanroom environments, including HVAC, filtration, pressurization, airflow patterns, and contamination control strategies.

A significant part of this role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical & electrical, architectural, and process engineers.

Responsibilities also involve reviewing and approving design specifications, equipment selections, and technical submittals.

An additional aspect of this position is managing risk and ensuring constructability in design decisions for cleanroom systems.

This includes overseeing commissioning plans, protocols, and schedules to ensure timely system startup and qualification.

Troubleshooting technical issues during commissioning and working closely with construction and QA/QC teams to resolve them is another key responsibility.

Documenting commissioning results, preparing as-built records, and leading final turnover packages are also critical tasks.

Oversight of installation, functional testing, and system verification of cleanroom-related systems, such as HVAC and automation, is also necessary.

Effective communication with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to align design and commissioning strategies with project goals is essential.

Additionally, leading system handover processes, including performance validation and client sign-off, is a crucial part of this role.

Supporting construction and procurement teams with technical input and engineering clarifications is also required.

Ensuring compliance with ISO cleanroom classifications (ISO 14644), cGMP, and other industry standards is a critical component of this position.

Job Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with minimum 5 years' relevant working experience in high-tech or regulated environments such as semiconductor or pharmaceutical facilities within a construction or engineering consultancy environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of cleanroom standards, HVAC systems, commissioning best practices, and contamination control.
  • Strong command in project review software (e.g., AutoCAD, REVIT, Navisworks) will be an added advantage.
  • Must be able to communicate in Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking associates.
