Storage Engineer

Job Overview:

  • Collect and analyze storage log information, providing reports on findings.
  • Review provisioning configurations, suggesting improvements based on industry best practices and recommending changes to procedures for operational optimization.
  • Test and verify configuration changes, new patches, or software releases.
  • Participate in change management, including planning, approval, and implementation of authorized change requests.
  • Generate regular operational reports using customer-supplied or third-party tools.
  • Conduct storage capacity measurements and capacity planning, including capacity forecasting.
  • Address vulnerabilities found on storage hardware and software products.
  • Develop recommendations for customers outlining areas for improvement, focusing on operational, technical, or support-related aspects.
  • Increase customer understanding and knowledge of storage solutions, maximizing benefits from product features and functionality.
  • Assist in training customers' staff in efficient and effective methods of utilizing storage solution capabilities.
  • Hold review meetings with customers at agreed-upon frequencies to discuss engagement status, issues, new requirements, and overall satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a data storage environment.
  • Familiarity with storage environments.
  • Hands-on experience with storage configuration and data migration.
  • Understanding of technical principles related to disaster recovery, backup solutions, and data migration.
  • Experience with daily monitoring and incident/support.
  • Basic knowledge of OS concepts, including Windows/Linux/Unix Systems administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, Solaris, AIX, etc.).
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Strong customer focus and multitasking abilities.
