About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Intern to join our team at 825 Glaxo Wellcome Manufacturing Pte Ltd. As an EHS Intern, you will play a critical role in supporting the site's EHS operations, including training, risk management, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage administration of all EHS-related training, including materials and schedules.
  • Provide EHS support to the site and offer accurate and consistent professional advice to enable them to manage and improve their EHS performance.
  • Work with Operations to ensure Workplace Risk Assessments are suitable, sufficient, and meet necessary standards.
  • Reinforce and promote improvements to the site's safety culture.
  • Conduct office and site inspections, support problem-solving, root cause analyses, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to rectify issues within agreed timelines.
  • Assist in areas with inspections to get a consistent approach across the site, coach site-based representatives in EHS, increase their EHS capabilities, and competence to effectively manage the environment.
  • Provide administration support to the team and support the Site EHS Lead.
  • Collate data for presentation and escalation at Site EHS Council and EHS Committee.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate studying Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Engineering preferably in Process Engineering/Environmental Engineering/Health and Safety related course.
  • Knowledge in technical EHS would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in use of IT and software/systems, ideally document management and database systems.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Deadline-driven, flexible with self-reliance to work in an empowered environment.
  • Awareness and ability to work within culturally diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, think and work independently, and problem-solve.
  • Strong drive for performance and attention to details.
  • A passion for knowledge.
