Key Job Responsibilities include leading a team to undertake robust analysis of policy and regulatory issues concerning competition and consumer matters. This involves obtaining perspectives from internal and external stakeholders to develop sound policy recommendations.

Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for assessing and analysing IMDA's regulated markets (telecom, media and post) in relation to competition and consumer policy matters.

This role supports the organisation's vision to empower the info-communications sector that drives the economy, bonds communities, and powers a Smart Nation.

Some key tasks associated with this role include:

  • Developing sound policy recommendations by obtaining perspectives from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring strong policy implementation of frameworks and regulations for competition and consumer policy matters.
  • Enforcing these frameworks when necessary, including assessing potential breaches of the Telecommunications and Media Competition Code.
  • Managing and resolving cases by coordinating with stakeholders from various sectors, including the public and private sectors.
  • Coodinating with government agencies to facilitate infrastructure deployment, improving service quality.
Required Skills and Qualifications

For this role we are looking for individuals with a background in Economics, Public Policy, Business Administration, Engineering or related disciplines.

Applicants should also have at least 5 years of experience in the telecommunications, media, postal sectors or related fields, with supervisory experience.

We are seeking highly motivated candidates with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.

Resourceful and result-oriented applicants with analytical and creative thinking are highly desirable.
