Diagnostic Testing Specialist

The Diagnostic Testing Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting public health initiatives by conducting diagnostic testing and surveillance of vector-borne pathogens.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine diagnostic testing for arboviruses and other vector-borne pathogens, applying standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accurate results.
  • Support laboratory-based surveillance efforts to track disease transmission trends and contribute to the development of effective disease control strategies.
  • Collaborate with laboratory teams to perform complex workflows and execute multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Participate in data collection and reporting activities to support public health responses and inform evidence-based decision-making.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Biomedical Sciences or a related field is essential.
  • Previous experience in a Life Sciences lab and familiarity with PCR or serology testing would be advantageous.
  • Comfortable working with routine testing and laboratory protocols, demonstrating a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Must be physically and mentally fit to work in a Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) laboratory environment.
  • Willingsness to work overtime when necessary is desirable.
