Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Executive to join our merchandising team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail accounting and excellent analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

The Accounting Executive will be responsible for:

  • Receivables: Reconcile sales transactions (Accounting vs POS) for all stores, reconcile merchant statements, cash receipts, and banks, post all receipts in the accounting system, submit monthly sales to landlords, ensure timely collections from wholesale customers.
  • Payables: Save all vendors' invoices in a shared folder, record and verify vendors' invoices to be approved by respective approvers, post vendors' invoices in the accounting system, prepare payments, check & verify staff reimbursements & petty cash, post all payments in the accounting system, post all IC invoices, prepare & post IC payments, reconcile IC balances & prepare monthly IC summary, prepare standard monthly prepaid expenses & accruals, post payroll JV, update monthly audit schedules.
  • Bank: Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts, download monthly bank statements.
  • Others: Liaise with merchants on payment types & terminals setup (new stores or additions), collect cash proceeds from stores for banking twice a month, support in annual audits and tax filings, any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualification.
  • 2 years of experience in related fields, ideally with experience in retail accounting. More experienced applicants will be considered as Senior Accounting Executive.
  • A team player with good interpersonal & organization skills.
  • Willing to learn.
  • Detail-oriented and hands-on in work deliverables to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
