Sommelier Job Opportunity

As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional wine service and recommendations to guests. Your role will encompass managing the wine list, overseeing storage and presentation of all wine and beverage stock, working closely with the culinary team, conducting wine training sessions, and handling purchasing and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Wine Recommendations and Pairings: Provide professional wine recommendations and pairings based on guests' preferences and menu offerings.
  • Wine List Management: Manage and update the wine list regularly to reflect current trends and inventory.
  • Wine Storage and Presentation: Oversee the storage, rotation, and presentation of all wine and beverage stock.
  • Culinary Team Collaboration: Work closely with the culinary team to create wine pairings that enhance the menu.
  • Wine Training Sessions: Conduct wine training sessions for service staff to ensure high levels of wine knowledge and service standards.
  • Purchasing and Inventory Control: Handle wine purchasing, vendor relationships, and inventory control.
Requirements:
  • Certification: Certified by WSET (Level 2 or higher), CMS, or an equivalent wine education program.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sommelier in a fine dining or upscale hospitality environment.
  • Passion and Knowledge: Strong passion and knowledge of wine, spirits, and wine pairing.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and guest service skills.
  • Inventory Management: Experience in inventory management and supplier coordination.
  • Wine Knowledge: Knowledge of wine storage conditions, glassware, and proper service techniques.
