Job Title: Organizational Development Specialist

The ideal candidate will be responsible for contributing to the implementation of HR strategies and administration of HR policies in assigned zones.

This role involves providing operational support to the Regional Head in designing, developing, and institutionalizing new HR initiatives/plans. The successful candidate will ensure smooth roll-out within agreed timelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • HR Strategy and Policies Implementation:
    • Support the Zonal/Regional HR Head in planning and implementing key HR initiatives to enhance the organization's reputation as an Employer of Choice.
    • Collaborate with Business/Function Heads to execute the HR business plan/strategy; embed change into day-to-day working practice and organizational culture to build a performance-oriented organization.
    • Continuously review and improve HR policies to reinforce organizational culture.
    • Provide input to the Zonal/Regional HR Head in developing solutions that enable successful retention strategies and address capability gaps using internal/external levers including development, resourcing, training, and innovative stretch experiential opportunities.
  • Recruitment & Selection:
    • Implement recruitment solutions that enhance the organization's hiring capability of professional staff in alignment with business objectives.
    • Monitor hiring of fixed-term employees and trainees in line with overall organization requirements.
    • Contribute to assessing manpower gaps for business units/departments based on business plans and collectively explore both internal and external sourcing options for hiring in conjunction with the Global Resourcing team.
    • Determine feasible and cost-effective options and initiate the sourcing process.
    • Support the development of innovative and effective means of assessing potential candidates so that the right person is selected for the job. Organize and conduct candidate interviews, shortlist candidates, and negotiate salary offers/terms of engagement.
    • Implement Talent Management initiatives and execute policies to retain high-calibre talent.
    • Assist the Zonal/Regional HR Head and the Head - Human Resources team to design and implement innovative and progressive selection tools to meet current/future manpower requirements.
  • Employee Engagement:
    • Design, develop, and implement programs to continuously engage and motivate staff to achieve superior results in conjunction with the Talent Management team.
    • Extend the people agenda in the zone through employee coaching/counselling sessions, planning, and execution of employee engagement initiatives across the zone.
    • Execute HR Connect initiatives to ensure constant interactions with employees and their respective superiors.
    • Identify employee concerns/grievances/issues proactively that may cause disruption in the near future and initiate corrective actions.
    • Advise and assist Line Managers to implement the performance assessment program and provide constructive employee feedback.
    • Assist the implementation of Reward & Recognition programs in the zone and monitor progress/effectiveness of these initiatives.
  • Organizational Development:
    • Work with key stakeholders to implement and roll out various organizational building initiatives in their respective zones.
    • Lead the L&D need analysis and co-own the implementation of Learning & Development activities for the zone.
    • Coordinate the administration of the employee satisfaction survey and implement recommendations emerging from the exercise.
  • Team Management:
    • Hire the right talent and expertise needed to achieve departmental objectives. Ensure backup talent is available.
    • Timely assess direct report performance, coach, and provide feedback.
    • Identify training and development needs for direct reportees; do succession planning across hierarchies, use career progression as a retention tool for high-potential staff.
    • Provide guidance and motivation to the team.
    • Train staff on processes and policies.
    • Delegate work authority and execute.
  • Compliance & Audit:
    • Ensure adherence to all applicable policies, procedures/regulations, and statutory requirements in respect of VACs/business operating in the zone.
    • Ensure compliance with all VFS Global HR Guidelines/standards set for employees.
    • Ensure adherence to laid-down processes to obtain good/acceptable audit ratings as and when assessed.
  • Judicious Use of Natural Resources:
    • Adhere to the environmental health and safety policy/objectives and guidelines of the organization.
