As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of pastries and baked goods in our hotel's culinary department.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow orders and advice from senior chefs to perform tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Adapt to business needs and be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and shifts.
- Focus on completing tasks before moving on to the next one, ensuring high-quality results.
- Complete work lists assigned by senior chefs within the allotted time frame.
- Attend and participate in company trainings, embracing learning opportunities with a positive attitude and adhering to company philosophy.
- Work calmly and efficiently, promoting good working relations in the culinary department.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and take pride in your work, reflecting in the quality of products for our guests.
- Aware of and adhere to company policies and statutory requirements regarding health and safety, sanitation, and fire procedures.
- Report maintenance defects using the correct procedures.
- Maintain high standards of grooming for yourself and colleagues, ensuring good customer relations.
- Report to work on time and notify management of any sickness or absence using the correct procedures.
Culinary Standards
- Monitor food production to ensure compliance with recipes and specifications.
- Ensure quality of food items according to standards, including sanitation and 'First in First out' kitchen best practice.
- Properly store food products in fridges and containers throughout a shift.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in culinary work areas.
- Ensure safe and proper use of equipment and instruct colleagues accordingly.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma and Certification in Patisserie or Bakery.
- 1-3 years of experience as a pastry or bakery professional.
- Able to identify different raw materials and cuisines.
- Basic cooking and sanitary knowledge.
- Monitoring of cooking preparation techniques and knife utilization.
- Well-groomed, professional appearance.
- Willing and able to work shift work.
