Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Food Technologist to join our Nourish team at International Flavors & Fragrances. As a global leader in taste, scent, and nutrition, we offer our customers a broader range of solutions for the food & beverage industry.

The successful candidate will provide technical support to customers and account managers to meet our business objectives. This includes executing customer and internal projects to grow primarily in the Bakery category, Bars, and Confectionery as secondary to meet sales strategy in this category.

The role will also involve supporting our go-to-market Category plan for the ASEAN market. This is a Singapore-based position and will report to our Design Director, Bakery, Bars & Confectionery.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work together with cross-functional teams to design and develop new or modify existing solutions, recipes, and/or processes.
  • Provide high-quality technical support to internal and external customers, prioritizing based on customer needs.
  • Maintain all soft and hard IFF's Singapore Innovation databases and associated procedures to ensure our global policies and Singapore requirements are up-to-date and in correct use.
  • Conduct pilot trials, primarily on Bakery and related applications.
  • Ensure safe and hygienic operations of all Bakery processing equipment.
  • Maintain good maintenance and cleanliness of all laboratory equipment and ensure the cleanliness of the entire Bakery Laboratory area.
  • Maintain a good stock of raw materials and consumable items at all times.
  • Adhere to all company policies, rules, and regulations, and commit to our quality and continuous improvement programs.
  • Any other tasks or projects assigned by your Immediate Manager.

Food Safety Accountability

  • Responsible for protecting our customers and 3rd parties from harm or injury caused by foodborne hazards associated with our products and processes.

Job Requirements

What You Will Need to Be Successful

  • Degree in Food Science or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the Bakery industry and related applications.
  • At least basic knowledge of dry compounded food ingredients, including raw material knowledge in particular related to Bakery end applications and processing environments.
  • Ability and/or developing competence in executing commercial projects/briefs with minimal supervision, initiative and self-motivation, accuracy and attention to detail, professionalism, proactivity, creativity, and innovation, computer literacy, logical, methodical, and analytical thought processes, technical problem-solving skills in Bakery-related industry, planning and time management skills, written and oral communication skills, and travel within the ASEAN region as well as when required.

  • A personal interest in food ingredients and nutrition, particularly in Bakery.
  • Project management and communication skills.
