Membrane Research Position

The Centre for Advanced Materials is seeking a skilled professional to work on projects focused on applying 2D materials to membranes for gas and liquid separation and purification.

  • Responsibilities include working on materials synthesis and preparation, sample preparation and characterisation, experimental setups for separation processes, laboratory measurements and reports, calibration and maintenance of equipment, supporting standard operating procedures, risk assessments and experimental plans.
  • Candidates must hold an internationally recognised diploma in chemistry, chemical engineering or a related field, with experience in laboratory work, teamwork and communication.
  • Key skills include multitasking, adaptability, resourcefulness, meticulousness, intellectual curiosity, and good communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualification in a relevant subject area.
  • Previous laboratory experience and knowledge of scientific and technical literature.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Motivation, punctuality and reliability, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in one or several areas including filtration systems, materials characterisation methods, sample characterisation by microscopy, quality control of fabrication processes and samples.
