Job Title: Construction Cost Manager
Description:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Cost Manager to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for reviewing and understanding drawings and specifications, preparing documents for quotation calls, comparing and analysing costs, sourcing subcontractors and suppliers, handling quantity measurement, cost estimation, budget control, and take-offs.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Review and understand drawings and specifications
- Prepare documents for quotation calls; compare and analyse costs
- SOURCE, LIAISE, AND NEGOTIATE WITH SUBCONTRACTORS AND SUPPLIERS
- Handle quantity measurement, cost estimation, budget control, and take-offs
- Prepare variation orders, progress claims, final accounts, and subcontractor payments
- Support tender submissions and clarifications
- Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Building or equivalent
- Work Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering construction firm (for QS level)
- Professional Knowledge: Familiar with PSSCOC, LTA SDRE, and other relevant agency standards
- Soft Skills: Solid understanding of professional practice, contract administration, and technical terms
- Negotiation and Problem Solving: Strong knowledge of contract law and variation management
- Time Management: Excellent time management with attention to detail
- Team Player: Able to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and manage assigned tasks
- Communication Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Miscellaneous: A proactive team player with a meticulous work ethic
