Job Title: Assistant Lead Engineer

Job Description:

  • We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee the day-to-day operations of data center facilities.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, DC Ops Managers, and vendors to deliver projects and provide maintenance support.
  • Administer preventative maintenance programs to ensure that DC providers carry out facilities maintenance effectively.
  • Monitor environmental system alerts in the data centers, escalating any defects to relevant authorities or third-party vendors promptly.
  • Optimize power usage effectiveness (PUE) and overall power consumption within the data center, meeting target power consumption levels.
  • Ensure DCIM systems operate as designed, protecting the data center, capturing power usage, calculating available capacity, and providing timely alarms and notifications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least six years of working experience in Data Centre Facility Management/Environment.
  • At least three years of experience leading a team in a similar capacity.
  • Strong knowledge and skills in building technology, mechanical and electrical services, and facilities management.
  • Good understanding of data centre infrastructure systems, including UPS, chiller, CRAC, thermal/fan wall cooling, electrical HT/LT, fire protection, water detection systems, fire suppression systems, PDU, CCTV systems, card access systems, etc.
  • Proficient in rack and stack tasks/planning, analysis, and forecasting under Data Centre Infrastructure Management (Able to allocate racks efficiently - plan and relocation experience - power usage optimisation).
  • ITIL Foundation V4 certified and possess Data Centre Certifications such as CDCP and CDCS.
  • Working experience managing & supporting DCIM system; Struxureware Data Center Expert (DCE) Struxureware Data Center Operations (DCO) and IT Advisor (ITA) in support of new data center deployment, and retrofits.
  • Inclination and passionate about automating routine tasks to drive operational efficiency.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 standards.
