Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Junior Sous Chef to join our team at Marina Bay Sands. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation in our pastry kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of all pastry items, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination of menu planning, inventory management, and food preparation.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items, ensuring they are innovative, delicious, and meet our high standards.
  • Lead and motivate a team of pastry cooks, providing guidance, training, and feedback to ensure they are performing at their best.
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and waste, ensuring we are operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe working environment for all staff.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as front-of-house and events, to ensure seamless service and delivery of our pastry products.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Pastry, Bakery, or Culinary Arts.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a 4-5 star hotel or quality restaurant.
  • Excellent leadership, logistical, and culinary skills.
  • Able to instill safety and sanitation habits.
  • Willing and able to work shift work.
  • People and customer-oriented, motivator, and self-starter.
  • Team builder, displays initiative, and creativity.
