**Acquisitions Editor Role**

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team as an acquisitions editor, where you will play a crucial role in shaping the company's portfolio of academic publications.

As an acquisitions editor, your primary responsibility will be to acquire high-quality content for books and journals in Engineering. This includes managing and developing assigned journals to improve their quality, impact, and profitability. You will handle editorial workflow from signing agreements to publication, coordinating directly with authors, production teams, printers, and designers. Additionally, you will participate in project management, prepare necessary documentation, and generate reports.

You will cultivate positive relationships with authors, reviewers, editorial board members, key advisors, colleagues from various departments, and other stakeholders to foster stronger collaboration. Your thorough evaluations of potential titles will ensure commercial viability, consistent and profitable revenue streams in line with the company's financial goals.

You will conduct research to track and interpret current market trends, identify emerging opportunities, and prioritize publications that align with audience demands and industry developments, ensuring the portfolio remains competitive and relevant. Furthermore, you will participate in marketing and promotion activities for books and journals, including ad hoc projects when required and assigned.

Requirements
  • A degree in Science or Engineering is preferred but candidates with degrees in non-science or non-engineering fields will also be considered if they possess relevant prior experience in academic publishing or related skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, analytical skills, and excellent interpersonal skills across all organizational levels are essential.
  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and a sharp attention to detail.
