Job Summary:

The Parenting Support Specialist role is an excellent opportunity for individuals to make a meaningful impact in the lives of families and children. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our team as a Parenting Support Specialist.

About the Role:

This position involves working closely with parents and caregivers to provide them with the necessary support and resources to achieve their goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing action plans, building positive relationships through outreach and home visits, and providing concrete and emotional support to parents and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored action plans for each family
  • Establish strong, supportive relationships with parents and caregivers through regular outreach and home visits
  • Offer practical and emotional support to help parents and caregivers overcome challenges
  • Promote relevant parenting knowledge and skills through education and guidance
  • Facilitate effective communication between parents, caregivers, and their children
  • Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support their child's learning, social, and emotional needs
  • Cultivate a supportive home environment that promotes healthy development and well-being
  • Advocate for the needs of parents and caregivers, responding promptly to crisis situations

Working with Groups:

  • Design, plan, and deliver engaging group activities and family events
  • Ensure the needs of each parent or caregiver are met within a group setting

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Commitment to a minimum of 3 years
  • A typical 40-hour work schedule with occasional evenings and weekends
  • Conversational proficiency in Malay is an asset
  • Background check prior to employment
  • At least 2 years of experience working with families
