Research Biologist

As a Scientist within our Research and Development team, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary research team to help create new sequencing methods.
The primary responsibilities include research and development of new sequencing chemistry, workflow, reagents, as well as purification and analytical characterization of molecules such as proteins and DNA oligos through biomolecular techniques and biochemical assays.
The position involves conducting experiments of varying complexity and across a broad array of techniques, foreseeing issues and working to overcome obstacles to completing tasks or assignments.
You will plan, conduct, summarize, and report consistent conclusions to aid in team decision-making.
Required Skills and QualificationsThis role requires the ability to apply experiential knowledge to develop new or adapt existing technology and processes.
A highly proficient and productive individual with 2 years relevant lab experience is required.
- Strong collaboration skills
- Ability to design complex experiments containing appropriate controls to anticipate potential problems
- Troubleshoot issues and communicate effectively in various environments with different stakeholders
Typically, this role requires a Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, biochemistry, or life sciences with relevant lab experience; or an advanced degree without experience.
OthersPrior experience in biochemical assays, molecular biology techniques, bioconjugation chemistry, and data analysis would be advantageous.
Industrial experience and good communication skills are also desirable.
