We are recruiting a Computational Biologist at the Cancer Discovery Hub, National Cancer Centre Singapore. You will be involved in various "omics" projects based on Next Generation Sequencing, single cell technologies, as well as spatial profiling. You will be required to perform data management, extraction, mining and analysis of NGS data, and preparation of research publications/grant applications. You will be expected to lead highly impactful projects in translational oncology and cancer science.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Perform wet bench experiments, data management, extraction, mining and analysis of Next Generation Sequencing data.
  2. Preparation of research publications/grant applications.
  3. Assist with general upkeep of laboratory needs, provide technical support, and establish work procedures for ongoing research projects. Support all ancillary activities of the lab including fundraising, education, and philanthropy efforts.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Biology, Bioinformatics, Genomics, Maths, Physics, or related fields with proficiency in cancer biology research.
  • Experience with molecular/cell biology wet lab techniques, including advanced molecular manipulation techniques (e.g., CRISPR) and animal experimentation.
  • Highly motivated, versatile individual with willingness to learn.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a team player.
  • Comfortable with exploration, analysis, and visualization of genomic data using R/Python.
  • Experience analyzing multi-omics sequencing data with available bioinformatics tools, software, or pipelines.
  • Knowledge of analyzing long read, single-cell, and spatial omics data (e.g., 10X Genomics, BGI Stereo-seq) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of statistical testing/analysis and biological data interpretation.
