We are seeking a highly motivated Bioinformatics/Computational Biology Post-doctoral fellow to join the data-driven RNA translation biology team at the Genome Institute of Singapore (A*STAR).
Our lab focuses on uncovering overlooked RNA translation events across the genome, with direct applications in human disease - particularly to reveal the hidden proteins in cancer, also known as the dark proteome. Our data-driven platform aims to advance fundamental biology but also holds potential for commercial translation including novel therapeutic targets and biomarkers. The lab is also actively involved in international consortia to annotate translation across the genome, contributing open-access resources to the global scientific community.
This position offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of genomics, data science, and translational medicine. You?ll play a central role in analysing large-scale Ribosome Profiling (Ribo-seq) and RNA-seq datasets, developing novel tools for comparative translatomics, and contributing to impactful publications and clinical research collaborations.
More details on responsibilities

  • Lead their own project developing novel methods for comparative translatomics with applications in clinical research
  • Analyse sequencing data (Ribo-seq and RNA-seq) and other multi-omics dataset (spatial, single-cell RNA sequencing etc,.) using statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to investigate RNA translation dynamics and regulation.
  • Present research findings through reports, presentations, and contributions to scientific publications.
Job Requirements
  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Data Science or related field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, C++ and/or others.
  • Experience with high-throughput sequencing data analysis, statistical analysis and data visualisation techniques.
  • Possess strong interpersonal communications skills and is able to work both independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team and diverse workforce.
Desired skills
  • Candidates with previous experience in analysing RNA-seq/Ribo-seq or integrating multi-omics data (spatial transcriptomics/scRNA-seq) will have an advantage.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI-based approaches is a plus.
  • Understanding of basic molecular biology concepts, RNA translation
What You Will Gain
  • Opportunity to drive your own research project in an emerging field with clinical impact.
  • Access to state-of-the-art datasets, computing infrastructure , and inter-disciplinary collaborators.
  • A supportive, international environment with local and international consortia involvements that fosters career development and scientific visibility .
