We seek a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to work on projects about EBV genomic diversity and explore the host and pathogen association.
The candidate is expected to:

  • Analyze large-scale EBV whole-genome sequencing data from diverse cohorts, including NGS and long-read sequencing data.
  • Develop computational pipeline to assemble the EBV genome for reference and characterize inter- and intra-host viral sequence diversity, for population and quasi-species evolution analysis of EBV genome.
  • Investigate association between variations within EBV genomic complex regions and clinical outcomes, focusing on the related diseases like nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
  • Drive interdisciplinary collaborations with clinicians, virologists to explore and functionally validate the mechanisms of host-pathogen interplay.
Requirements
  • PhD in Genomics, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or related fields.
  • Expertise in NGS and long-read sequencing data analysis.
  • Great programing skills, proficiency in python/R and command-line tools.
  • Knowledge of EBV biology or herpesviruses.
  • Publication record with a first author publication and ability to work independently.
