Department Overview

The Wholesale Banking division operates under a dynamic business model, delivering a range of financial services and solutions tailored to meet the strategic objectives of our clients. Our goal is to establish ourselves as the premier provider of banking services for Asia-based commercial entities, including small and medium enterprises, large corporations, financial institutions, and multinational corporations. Our dedicated teams collaborate seamlessly across Transaction Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets, and Group Retail to provide comprehensive solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The Trade & FSCM Sales position is centered on driving, structuring, and delivering trade solutions, including financial supply chain management, to assist clients in addressing their working capital, balance sheet, and risk management needs, particularly for corporations engaged in cross-border trade.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and targeting potential trade clients in collaboration with Relationship Managers and Cash Management Sales.
  • Offering trade advisory and structuring solutions to prospective corporate clients, focusing on UOB's capabilities as a trade banking partner.
  • Addressing working capital, balance sheet management, and documentary trade risk management objectives.
  • Staying informed on industry best practices in trade finance, including operations and technology-driven solutions to support client growth.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to understand their business and banking needs.
  • Collaborating with Relationship Managers and Trade Sales on joint sales initiatives and account planning.
  • Developing and presenting regional trade and FSCM solutions to potential corporate clients.
  • Managing the entire trade sales process from opportunity identification to deal implementation.
  • Leading responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for Trade services and FSCM.
  • Partnering with Relationship Managers and Product Management to provide product advisory and secure Trade & FSCM mandates.
  • Achieving or surpassing revenue and performance targets, including portfolio growth and transaction volumes.
  • Actively participating in pipeline reviews to track sales activities and share successes.
  • Supporting marketing and branding initiatives, including client events and media recognition.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory policies and organizational guidelines.
  • Completing ad-hoc assignments as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • A University Degree from a recognized institution.
  • Relevant experience in transaction banking sales, particularly in Trade Finance and FSCM.
  • Familiarity with documentary trade and open account trade services at both domestic and regional levels.
  • Strong understanding of working capital solutions and the ability to communicate their value effectively.
  • Knowledge of electronic banking delivery and related technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on negotiation and problem-solving.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and a collaborative team player.
