Department Overview
The Wholesale Banking division operates a dynamic business model, delivering financial services and tailored solutions that empower clients to meet their strategic objectives. Our goal is to be the premier provider of banking services for Asia-based commercial entities, ranging from small and medium enterprises to large corporations and multinational firms. Our teams work in harmony with specialized units across Transaction Banking, Investment Banking, Global Markets, and Group Retail to offer seamless solutions to our clientele.
Key Responsibilities
The role of Trade & Financial Supply Chain Management Sales focuses on the development, structuring, and delivery of trade solutions that address clients' working capital, balance sheet, and risk management needs, particularly for corporations engaged in cross-border trade.
Main responsibilities include:
- Identifying and targeting potential trade clients in collaboration with Relationship Managers and Cash Management Sales teams.
- Providing expert trade advisory and structuring solutions to corporate clients, demonstrating how UOB can serve as their trade banking partner.
- Addressing key objectives such as working capital enhancement, balance sheet optimization, and documentary trade risk management.
- Applying current industry knowledge to deliver best-in-class trade finance structures, leveraging technology and fintech innovations to support client growth.
- Cultivating strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to gain insights into their business and banking needs.
- Collaborating with Relationship Managers and Trade Sales teams on sales activities, including joint calls and account planning.
- Formulating and presenting regional trade and financial supply chain solutions to prospective corporate clients.
- Managing the complete trade sales process from opportunity identification to solution design, winning mandates, and deal implementation.
- Leading responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for trade services and financial supply chain management.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to craft effective responses and solutions for RFIs and RFPs.
- Driving deal origination efforts and partnering with Relationship Managers to secure trade and financial supply chain mandates.
- Achieving or surpassing revenue and performance targets, including pipeline management and portfolio growth.
- Actively participating in pipeline reviews to track sales activities and share insights and successes.
- Supporting marketing initiatives, client events, and award submissions to enhance brand visibility.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory policies and internal guidelines.
- Completing additional assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications
- A degree from a recognized university.
- Relevant experience in transaction banking, particularly in sales roles focused on Trade Finance and Financial Supply Chain Management.
- Familiarity with documentary trade and open account services at both domestic and regional levels.
- Strong understanding of working capital solutions and the ability to articulate their value.
- Knowledge of electronic banking solutions and ERP systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient presentation skills.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and a collaborative team player.
