Senior Food Safety Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Food Safety Specialist to oversee our food safety operations. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene.

Your expertise and attention to detail will be crucial in maintaining our reputation for delivering safe, high-quality food products to our customers.

  • Conducting regular inspections and audits of our food production facilities to monitor compliance with all relevant food safety regulations and standards
  • Identifying and addressing any potential hygiene or safety issues, and implementing corrective actions to mitigate risks
  • Providing training and guidance to production staff on food handling, cleaning procedures, and best practices in food hygiene
  • Maintaining detailed records and documentation to demonstrate our compliance with all food safety requirements
  • Liaising with regulatory authorities and external auditors to ensure our operations meet or exceed all necessary standards
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our food safety management systems and processes

What we're looking for:

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar food hygiene or quality assurance role, preferably within the catering or food manufacturing industry
  • Strong working knowledge of food safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve potential food safety issues
  • Proficient in conducting audits, inspections, and risk assessments
  • Effective communication and training skills to engage with production staff at all levels
  • Relevant diploma or qualification in food technology, food science, or a related discipline
